G-Analyst Replacement

Hi, I stumbled on to this discussion list after a web search about G-Analyst. I am working with another company that supplied Analysis and Graphing software that linked to the G-Analyst. They are obviously interested in finding a replacement. So, I am in the midst of designing a brand new product to replace the G-Analyst, but with more features and less cost. Most of the components in the G-Analyst are older technology, and we think we can do some pretty nice things by including a digital compass along with the g-forces. These will be hooked to an RS-232 link to a laptop.

There will be a remote pendant with a display and switches. Now, I am not here to try to sell more of these. At this point, we are only a design firm. However, I am looking for what uses this product might be used for, and frankly, the uses mentioned here surprised me. Is there anything else you would like this unit to do that the G-Analyst does not? We are looking into having a higher priced unit that accepts serial data from various remote sensors, primarly for the auto racing world. Does this have an application to you?

Thanks for your responses. I hope to make this into a very nice product. My main goal is to define other uses of this product. This will allow me to anticipate higher volumes. Higher volumes will help me as a designer, as I can convince the money guys that they should spend money on tooling that we can then amortize.

Thanks for the bandwidth. I hope you see this as investigation and not Spam.
