I had an accident on the way back from my grandmother's funeral. I don't recall the following days, at all. I did seem to conduct the business that was at hand...calling insurance, going by work to let thm know I couldn't be in that day,and picking up my 8 year old at school. This is after i was hit by an air bag...I am 5 foot tall, female ,42 years old. But I was presummed Dui given a field sobriety test only...and taken to jail. I t was a few days later that My head aches got so severe that I saw a doctor, since obvisiouly none was offred at the accident site..That was last Feb.Now March31 1998...Tues. I have to select a jury to determine if I was really intoxicated. No open containers were in my car,I had not had a drink, just returning from a 50 minute drive from her funeral..I am still under the care of a neuro for post concussive syndrom, migraines, and severe ring in my ears..alll as a result of the accident. The courts have refused to believe that airbags can do that damage and y
ou still can give certain information,I did give info..I just have no recollection of it or the funeral..even the day before. I had a former DUI in 1983 when I was young and stupid and didn't have a child..I need someone's help. I have exhausted all my finances on this year long battle toward the truth..medical bills..medicine..and lost work from the migraines...If any one can assist me I would be forever grateful. My son needs me at home not in jail...my school needs me to remain the room mother and the school's PTA needs me as their VP..in fund raising. I have been active in that capacity now for 4 years. I refuse to allow the courts to convict me of being intoxicated. I would appreciate any help and advice,as I cannot afford the courts "expert witness".
