I am completing a one vehicle fatal where the vehicle rolled. The
shoulder belt was in use, but not the lap belt. The shoulder assembly
broke off and I found the emergency release button housing in the field. The
belt was okay and appears to be usable. The point at which the emergency
release button attaches to the motorized track is slightly damaged.
The emergency release button is crushed. I tried to see if the buckle
would fit back into the housing, but the housing is crushed. The buckle
is scratched. I spoke with the wife who said he never messed with the
buckle. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and killed.
