Don't use a drag sled for establishing the tyre/road surface coefficient of friction. Results are not reliable. It is much better to skid test the surface with a vehicle fitted with a chalk gun or a device such as 'Skidman'. These results are more likely to correspond to the condition of a skidding vehicle.
