In reply to your submission I must admit I do not know of any publications that may offer a consistant range which you seek. I believe that "range" is the operative word in determining the accelerator factors you seek.
I suspect the problem arises in the understanding and need to determine the true off-track of the articulated unit, if at all possible, from the collision. As many drivers and different turning scenerios have to be considered, so is the engine type and torque/horsepower ratings required. An exemplar unit with a VC 2000 and a number of turning radius scenerios would be what i recommend if at all possible.
The driver factor is also a key issue, i.e., progressive shifting throughout the turn vs. maximum r.p.m. on the throttle before shifting. These questions could be determined in examinations for discovery by the driver perhaps and would certainly help you or your driver in the methods selected for your cornering tests.
There is a significant time difference from "cutting the corner" and a "button-hook" turn, to a steering controlled corner where the trailer "just" clears it's intended corner.
I am sorry I cannot offer any further information, however, if you have the specific demensions and unit specifics, perhaps I can conduct this for you.
My email is down at this date, but hope to have it restored this week, or phone me if you like at, 403-473-4347.
