At my organization (Ontario Provincial Police) we have been collision
investigators and collision reconstructionists for a couple of years. Now nobody
is sure what to call us. I don't think there will ever be success in changing
the public in the use of a word a collison involving vehicles will always be a
an accident.

Now if we could get the management types to spend half as much time getting us
training and equipment instead of deciding what to call us something
constructive may happen in traffic safety.
