Seatbelt Examinations

My training for the determination of use/non-use of a seatbelt during a crash
taught me to look for webbing imprints from buckles and D-rings and plastic
smears on webbing or webbing imprints on plastic coated components.

I have run into a few collisions where the severity dictated that some marks
should be apparent but none were.

What other tell tale signs may be looked for to indicate use?

Perhaps I should also consider what might be good indicators of the belts
failure to function as well.

Thanks!
