I recently investigated a single vehicle accident involving one of our patrol cars.
The vehicle slid side ways, causing the left rear tire to impact with a curb.
The impact caused the left rear axel to bend into a U configuration. I would like
to know 1.If anyone knows the stiffness rating for this year of vheicle.2. I'm attempting
to find how much force it would take to actually bend the axel. I know that when the
vehicle slide, the weight of the vehicle shifted to the left side, but to determine
as I said the force needed to do the damage is a temperary set back for me.
The road conditions had ice and snow mix. The driver had only been given a license
to actually drive a car six months prior to the accident and had been a resident of Texas
most of her life. She had never driven on snow or ice. Any information would be
helpful.
