The load limiter is an area on the belt where the webbing is folded back onto itself and then stitched together with the idea that the stitching will burst under high loading and absorb some energy so the body doesn't have to and to increase the time of body interaction with the seat belt to lower the acceleration experienced by the body in contact with the belt. I can try to send Bill Wright some GIF files of a burst load limiter tomorrow or Monday (I have a couple of depo's to work around). Failing that, I can send him some pictures to scan that show an example of a highly stressed load limiter and he can scan them in if he desires. There are other types also that deform to absorb energy. I don't have any pictures of those. Ed
