I would like information on harness seatbelt passive restraints for
Chysler Mini Vans 1991 to 1994.I am aware that thee is some product
malfunction. I was in a minor accident 10/18/96. I had a pre existing
condition of degenerative disc disease and Reflex Sympethic Dystrophy.
I am currently represented by an Attorney. Because of the preexisting
condition I have to turn my body to judge distances when parking. This
happened while I was judging the distance between 2 cars when I was hit
left side just behind the drivers door. The harness was so tight that
even after I turned the car off the restraint plastered my body to the back of
the seat. I had my brake pedal on when I was hit and had it replaced
only to find that the new harness had the same problem. I took it back to the
shop that fixed it and the insurance adjusted stated that there was no problem
What should have been a simple neck sprain has turned into a nightmare.
Peer review and IME report states that I am capable of working even after
the peer review for physical therapy was refused because of no improvement
I have been told to hire a biomechanic to investigate this would be in
the neighborhood of $10,000. I have seen other complaints on the internet
of the same or even more serious mechanical dysfunction. There has to be
supportive documentation of the class action suit for the ABS braking
system and the function of the Harness restraint because the restraint only
works when the brakes are applied. How difficult can this be to prove?
I am just a nave with mechanical function but I certainly can see where the
two go together. Thanking you in advance for any light you can shead on this matter.
