et in the middle. I believe his paper has merit. You yourself stated to me that WinCRASH and the other CRASH clones were not appropriate for low speed crashes, and therefore we are all in agreement from what I can gather. It is good to know that you are also of the opinion that likelihood of injury is not within the realm of the accident reconstructionist. Any headaches I may have caused are worth hearing you say that. I am certain that defense attorneys nationwide will now stop using AR’s to help convince judges and juries of this fact.

Third, there were NO "peripheral questions" on my part regarding WinCRASH as you claim. My questions were directed only its use for low speed collisions, as I have already stated, and had nothing to do with any legal case, especially one where there was a high speed, if that was indeed true in the legal case you mention. The questions were direct, and clear. They were honest questions. I would like to learn more from you, to be certain. I appreciated the time you spent with me then as I do now. I am planning to purchase one of these programs in the near future, but I am not sure which one to purchase. I need one that will be applicable to low-speed crashes.

Mr. McNally, I don’t mean to give you any headaches. Nor do I want to give any headaches to anyone else in this field. I have enough headaches to treat on a daily basis. I simply want to challenge many of the assumptions that have been leveled against honest persons who have been injured in motor vehicle collisions. It is sad to see the slash-and-burn policy of the auto insurance defense industry, and to see so-called "independent" medical examiners who are biased against injury in ANY motor vehicle collision. And unlike you, there are several AR’s who feel that auto crash reconstruction (NHTSA has advised against the use of the term "accident") can predict occupant injury in a crash. That is simply not the case, as you and I agree. Since whiplash injuries comprise roughly 3 million new injuries per year in the United States, it is an important issue for this website.

I do think this website is an appropriate place to address the issues raised. I originally started posting here in the spirit of joining a "free-wheeling, uncensored forum" where questions and comments of this nature were allowed.
