If you visit my web site http://www.angelfire.com/on/GuideBook/index.html and click on book (International Guide Book for Traffic Accident Reconstruction)examples, the first page there will show you how to measure the striation angles and how to tell if there is ABS braking involved. Even a rookie investigator shouldn't make the mistake you allude to if he/she is trained properly.
