Measuring a Drag Factor

In almost every collision analyzed, a reconstructionist must quantify the variable Drag Factor. For those unfamiliar with the term, Drag Factor is number that describes the amount of force a tire can generate on a particular surface. As an example a new asphalt road would have a higher Drag Factor than the same road covered in ice. There are many ways to go about measuring this value. This page will serve as a hub for reading about different methods of measuring this important quantity.

Note: If you use a method other than those mentioned here please forward your thoughts through TARO Feedback. TARO will gladly include your method.
