The idea of holding the gun out the window and pulling the
trigger "when you want to mark it" entirely defeats the point
of a bumper gun.

Most bumper guns are fired with a signal from the brake light
circuit. This always fires the mark early on in the brake pedal
travel. With consistent brake application the mark appears at
the same point in the sequence of stopping events. This is not
necessarily when the tires start to skid but always at the same
point in the sequence.

Trying to physically fire the gun at the same time adds the
perception decision action processes of the driver (and now
shooter)to the equation defeating the bumper gun point. I doubt
this hang out the window procedure would be any better than
having an assistant standing close by to "mark the spot" from
visual observation.

An interesting idea but inconsistent.
