My partner and I both made drag sleds by cutting a tire in half filling with 50lbs of cement and attaching an eye hook and dragging with a scale. Dragging both side by side we have gotten the same F factors. We also had it tested against a Mich DOT sled and found them to be accurate. The most important item is that the scale is level when being pulled. If there is any angle you will induce error. I corrected this by gluing a small level on my scale. What you have to watch is that you dont pick up any stones under the tire. You drag it right next to the skid the same way and you have a steady pull. Dont take the reading when you first start but when you moving.
