While ed, Raphael and Jim bring up very valid points about viewing tiremarks both at night and day time, (may I add that a pair of polarized sunglasses works well too, though not as well as the filter for an SLR camera), we are still off the beaten path related to Kenneth's original post. That is, is there an accurate way to tell how old a tiremark is? I think Kenneth is on the right track by documenting all the tiremarks that he sees at the scene.
