Dear Pete:

The method that Ed suggested is a very good method, one thing that I would like to add is this, take photos from the direction that the vehicle traveled and than take them in the opposite direction. Than do the same thing but only offset yourself a few degrees and this lets the skids show up. Than use the paint method described by Mr. Phillips. When you start to use filters and other enhancing techniques you may run into problems with defence attorneys, maybe not so much in civil cases but certainly in criminal. It happened to me with a blood spatters on a side of a red car and they wouldnt allow it in.

anyway hoped it helped

good luck
