According to the NHTSA database Chrysler has decided to conduct a "safety improvement campaign" to install a shift interlock on 1990 Jeep Cherokees. This is not a safety recall in accordance with Federal Regulation 573, however, it is deemed a safety improvement campaign by the agency. The NHTSA Campaign ID Number is 97I002000.
