I agree with your comments on the 'stuck' needle. I had a case where three
different investigators recorded three different speeds for the 'stuck' needle
(every time the vehicle was moved at the towing compound, the needle ended up
in a different position).
This is a perfect example of how things get twisted. The media initially made
the factual statement "the needle was stuck at 121 mph". This was then shortly
translated into the car was going 121 mph.
I also agree that I don't see 121 mph of crush but then I don't have any
experience with supposedly "armoured" limousines...... I guess we will have to
wait for the 'official French version of events'
