I certainly am pleased with the discussion, that this question has sparked,
and I appreciate the information. I used the fork deflection equation, but
as you all stated this is a new motorcyle with alloy wheels. This 11 inches
of crush is wheel base crush. There is a considerable amount of frame
bending in that 11 inches. There was no visible crush on the rear of the
trailer. I was wondering if you could possiblly use linear momentum to
calcutate the speed from the spring back off the rear of the trailer. what
do you think.
