Hi guys:

I have heard of two cases of "forensic engineering" firms being sued by former clients, both cases revolved around the loss of evidence once collected. I've yet to hear of someone being sued after having made an honest effort on their client's behalf.

If you are a small entity (as many of us are), having no professional insurance makes you a less tasty target: if all they're going to get out of a lawsuit is your 5 year old car and a beat up computer, they won't bother. If you have a big insurance policy, you are suddenly worth chasing. A bit of a catch-22, don't you think?

Wade.
