Seven Drag Factor Questions

I have been in court for the last two days on a pedestrian case in which a 5 year old girl wasstruck by a 1977 Dodge Pickup. The vehicle left 57 feet of skid on the concret road. A drag test conducted at the scene by the investigating officer with a 38# sled with a pull weight of 26#.
I went to the scene in Sep (accident occurred in Aug) and did a test with a 47# sled needing 35 pounds of force to pull. I was not totally confident of the accuracy of this new sled. So in Dec I conducted test skids (35' @ 30mph, 32' @ 30mph, 60'0" @ 40 mpph, and 60'5" @ 40mph).
My questions are...
1. Do any of you feel that you can better determine a drag factor by looking at the surface than doing some (any) kind of test?
2. Do you throw out tested drag factors if they do not fall into the range in the Baker book?
3. What is more accurate? A. Test skid same vehicle. B. Test skid cruiser. C. Drag sled. D. Chart in book. E. A guess based on experiance. NOTE; I do not have access to a VC2000
4. What do you use as an acceptable variance in your tests 5%, 10%?
5. Do you rely on tests conducted by other officers/investigators whom you do not know?
6. Whatmethod do you use and why?
7. In your experiance how much difference do enviromental factors make? A. Temp. B. Humidity. C. Sun light/darkness. D. Wind. E. Time of day. F. Damp surface. G. Wet >.1 inches of water
Thanks in advance for your replies, and anyone who wants to contact me via e-mail, please feel free.
