Thanks for your response. I note that FMVSS 209 regarding seatbelt assemblies states; "Buckle release mechanism shall be designed to MINIMIZE (as opposed to prevent??) the possibility of accidental release." And for assembly Group C, the buckle latch requires a maximum separation force of 5 lbs. in any position of partial engagement. The buckle shall not fail, gall or wear to an extent that normal latching and unlatching is impaired. The maximum buckle release force is 30 lbs. at a loop load of 150 lb-f. Please keep us posted.
