In a discussion, on another list, of hydroplaning, someone pitched out an avaiation formula. It calculates the MPH at which a tire hydroplanes on standing water as 7.7 to 9.2 times the square root of the tire pressure. The range of the multiplier covers variations in tire design and tread depth. Is this formula applicable to cars and trucks?
