Re: Reliability of Seat Belts

Vince,

This is a problem that I am sure I will have to deal with at some point.
Without actually checking the seat belt how do you know that it was
operable?

The only time that I had to deal with a potential seatbelt problem was when
an "exotic dancer" reported that she was struck in the rear and forced
forward, into another automobile. She reported that her seatbelt failed and
she struck the steering wheel, rupturing her breast implants. She told the
insurance company that she had problems with her seatbelt prior to this loss.
However, when I discussed the prior seatbelt problems with her, she stated that
when she was accelerating forward and leaning forward, while looking into
the side view mirror merging into traffic, the seat belt would lock. This
indicated to me that the seat belt system was actually working properly.

In that case, we obviously did not conclude too much from the opiion that
the seat belt system was working properly. I just thought it may give you
or others some more ideas to combat the inevitable question we may all have
to deal with.
